Not many teams can call themselves a 10-time champion.

As of Saturday afternoon, All-Army can. They outlasted a tough Department of the Air Force team 10-7 in the U.S. Armed Forces Championship match to take home their third title in three years and their 10th title overall.

The other U.S. Armed Forces team that make up Pool A brought their A-game in 2024. Department of the Air Force played All-Army extremely tough on the weekend, dropping both matches against the 2024 U.S. Armed Forces champions by a combined score of five points.

It’s no secret that the teams that make up Pool A come to the RugbyTown 7s to play for a shot at the U.S. Armed Forces title, but the unfortunate reality for the two teams that do play in that match have to play an entire extra match than the other teams that make up the field.

Both the Department of the Air Force and All-Army had a quick turnaround for their Cup Quarterfinal matches against Casanovas and Denver 7s Selects, respectively. Air Force wound up on the wrong side of a 24-5 scoreline at the hands of Casanovas, while Army fell to Denver 7s Selects 38-0.

Casanovas has had a great tournament and will get a crack at Tsunami Wave Wearers on Sunday in the Cup Semifinal for a shot to play for the $10,000 grand prize. The Wave Wearers defeated a tough NAV 7s team - the 2023 RugbyTown 7s runner-up - 24-12 in the Cup Quarterfinal to advance to the final four.

NAV 7s wasn’t the only finalist to fall on Sunday evening.

On the other side of the Cup bracket are Denver 7s and the Ramblin’ Jesters, who find themselves back in the Cup semifinal after knocking off the defending RugbyTown 7s Champions in the USA U23s 10-5 with a last-second try in a thrilling final match of the evening. After finishing Day 1 with a perfect 3-0 record, the U23s dropped both of their matches on Day 2 to fall out of Cup contention.

In the Bowl bracket, the SoCal Griffins followed up a disappointing Day 1 that saw them drop the two matches they played with a 3-0 Day 2. They’ll take on a strong Wild Dogs team on Sunday for a shot at the Bowl Final. The other side of the Bowl bracket features Lions 7s and Assassins 7s, both of which hammered their opponents in the Quarterfinal rounds.

The Sheild Final will see the U.K. Armed Forces take on All Navy Rugby, and the Coast Guard take on Gorilla Rugby.

Day 3 action will begin at Infinity Park at 11 AM MT on Sunday, with a special performance by the world-famous Westernaires on Western Day before the finals begin. A single-day ticket costs $15. You can purchase tickets and stream all of the action on RugbyTownUSA.com.
